Ad blocking in Google Chrome is a thing of the past!

Ana sayfa / News

Giant companies like Google, which are dependent on advertising revenues, are constantly developing new methods to expose users to ads. Accordingly, Google will not support ad blocking software with Chrome.

Google is increasing its fight against ad blockers with the changes it has made to its Chrome browser. Accordingly, it is making it harder to use popular add-ons like uBlock Origin. While the company bans ad blocking techniques on its platforms like YouTube, it is now limiting the options in Chrome.

Chrome users have started to receive warnings that add-ons that use the old Manifest V2 API will soon be unsupported. This includes uBlock Origin, which has over 100 million users. The add-on works by blocking requests for ads and other unwanted content.

Confession from Payday 3 dev: “We screwed up!”

The Payday series, which attracted great attention in the world with its first two games, almost hit rock bottom with the third game. Here's why!

Google is switching all add-ons to the new Manifest V3 standard. Manifest V3 includes significant restrictions that will make plugins less effective at filtering ads and cookies. Google claims the changes are for security and performance reasons, but users believe they were made specifically for ad-blocking software.

Google also began temporarily removing the ability to enable unsupported plugins in its latest Chrome update, meaning you’ll have a limited window to use plugins like uBlock Origin. Once Chrome makes the switch, there will be no option to use popular blockers.

Of course, it’s not yet clear whether alternative browsers like Firefox will adopt a similar stance or provide more control. But Google’s pressure is putting ad-blocking plugins in a difficult position.
